Functioning as a one-stop-shop, LightCoce provides holistic, tailor-made services for the development of novel concepts related to lightweight concrete, conventional and advanced ceramics, covering the whole value chain. Apart from the upscaling/testing services, we offer all complementary services required to support the commercialization of these materials, such as characterisation, process modelling, quality assurance and monitoring, standardisation, safety, market uptake and innovation management.
LightCoce leverages the initiative of the HORIZON 2020 project entitled “Building an Ecosystem for the up-scaling of lightweight multi-functional concrete and ceramic materials and structures” to shape a permanent, autonomous scheme that supports the needs of industry and especially of small and medium enterprises, which do not have the resources and infrastructure needed for research, and to become a pan-European access point for service delivery, innovation and networking for the sectors under consideration.
In order to achieve our purpose, we:
> collaborate closely with well-established organizations throughout Europe in the fields of lightweight concrete, conventional and advanced ceramics;
> provide services related to technology development and transfer, innovation management and consulting;
> raise awareness in the field of lightweight composite materials and especially lightweight concrete and ceramics;
> organize conferences, workshops, training events, webinars and other related activities targeting in the promotion of technologies in the field of lightweight concrete and ceramics;
> interact and form alliances with all related institutions, bodies and associated sectors to efficiently speed up the needed changes of market uptake;
> address the needs of professionals, such as job opportunities for young scientists, Open Innovation (OI) pathways for SME’s, transparent and clear expert knowledge for consumers etc.;
